GRID Autosport Review

GRID Autosport is Codemasters’ third attempt to balance the gameplay of one more racing game with the requirements of an audience that constantly asks for a good simulator but always ends up playing arcade games.

If you remember, GRID 2 had received some bad critics from the players who said that it too much of an arcade and so this time the GRID Autosport is clearly the company’s effort to behave according to the critics. And so far it seems to be doing pretty well.

First of all, you can drive from inside the car something that lacked from GRID 2 and caused negative reviews. This mode may be chosen by only 5% of the gamers but it is the most realistic.

However, let’s make clear that even though the Autosport is more realistic than its predecessor, it is not a simulator that can satisfy the most demanding gamers. Those need to simply put their interest to

The video games industry seems to have been compromised with the arcade side of its racing games for 20 years no, and Autosport is no exception.

Codemasters is a company that has offered a lot in the field of racing games for decades, with the firs GRID being one of the kind’s greatest moments. In the years that followed, the DiRT series offered gamers races all over the world with very accurate representations of the routes.

A vital difference that brings the GRID Autosport closer to a simulator than the arcade side is that the player has to use his vehicle’s speed to win his opponents where as in the kind’s arcade games, the player usually has a slightly higher speed that the other NPC vehicles and so when there are no turns, getting in the first position is easy as a walk in the park. But try to make a turn on high speed in the GRID Autosport and you’ll find yourself spinning around like crazy.

Instead of unnatural speed, the game gives you better breaks than your rivals meaning that you will need to improve your driving skills in order to overtake your rivals.

From a technical point of view, things look satisfying and the system requirements are easy to fulfil. All you need to play the game at regular settings is a GTX 680.

Overall, the GRID Autosport is the new – worth checking out member – of the GRID family and Codemasters made sure to make this one make up for the GRID 2 which didn’t seem to keep up with the players’ demands.
